Item The Appropriateness of the Planned activities of the Nyamachaki Presbyterian men's fellowship to the stated objectives(2014-05-09) Macharia, Anne WanjaThe Presbyterian Church Men's Fellowship (pCMF) is the only men's fellowship in the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA). it is intended to provide a forum through which the men can channel their resources and gifts (talents) to strengthen the church at all levels. Nyamachaki PCMF is a branch of the national men's fellowship. The members of the fellowship designed objectives and activities through which members would be involved. The objective of this study has been to establish the appropriateness of the planned activities. The jury procedure was used where the jurors responded to a three-item self-administered questionnaire. The jurors are practitioners in the field of Christian Education with a bias towards curriculum development. Content analysis ofPCMF documents enumerated the objectives and activities ofPCMF. The PCMF objectives were found to be unclear whereas the activities were clear. On appropriateness, the set activities are not appropriate to the stated objectives. The researcher suggested the use of the andragogical model in designing their educational curriculum. This model is based on the needs of the learner and explains that the need for more knowledge results from the learner's interaction with each other. When the learner identifies his limitations, he subjects himself to further learning, completing the learning cycle.
